Augmented reality

The on-site experience is enhanced by augmented reality. Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that overlays virtual elements (images, sounds, 3D data) onto the real world in real time, enriching the visitor’s perception without replacing their physical surroundings. The trails bring works of art into your direct view of the real world. The experience takes place on site: simply scan the QR code on the panel at each stop to make the painting appear in the landscape.

What you need

  • A phone with a recent browser, Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android.
  • Camera permission, asked only once.
  • An Internet connection: load the stops before you set off if the signal is weak.
  • Headphones, for the audio story.

Good to know

  • The experience only starts in front of the panel. It needs the image of the panel to place the painting on the landscape.
  • Everything else on the website, the notes, the painters, the themes, can be read anywhere, at any time.
  • The experience is free, like the trail.
